La Commanderie is directly linked to the Dauphiné region's past. After it was Hospitalerie des Templiers, it became the heir apparent's property, and then was exchanged for a possession of the Knights of Malta's. They kept it right up until the French Revolution. In 1870, it went to the Perier family. This dynasty had illustrious members such as one of the co-founder of Banque de France, no less than three MP's, a Prime Minister under Louis Philippe and a short-lived President of the Third Republic.
