The Courtalain château was passed on from generations to generations through the inheritance process, and was never sold. Its origin goes back to the Middle Ages when it was called Curtalunum. This château is a blend of Middle Age, renaissance and English neo-gothic architecture. The latter influence takes us back to the Montmorancy family emigrated to England during the French Revolution. The stunning 500-acre park features several outbuildings dating from 1730 including an orangery, a postal station and a few apartments designed by Gabriel de Lestrade who worked with Gabriel, the famous architect for Paris' Place de la Concorde.
